Something Old, Something New...

Something old...

Something new...

Something borrowed...

Something blue...

The past year has been one of many changes for the Wilmington High School community.  Students were faced with a new schedule, new policies, and a transition into a new school building in the middle of the school year.  However, what has not changed in the midst of this huge transition is the incredible investment that the town of Wilmington places in its youth.

Part of what makes Wilmington unique is the town's huge emphasis on making decisions to benefit the town's youth.  The new high school is a testament to this dedication.  The project to create a new high school hit an unbelievable amount of snags and technical difficulties in the process.  In spite of all the difficulty, the people of the town never gave up on the idea, and persevered to ensure that it was completed.  The town poured millions of dollars into the project, and never gave up on it even in the early stages where it seemed impossible, showing a unique dedication to the success of their students.  After 65 years providing for students in the old building, the town decided it was time for a new one, and so many people in Wilmington gave it their all to provide a new building with a new educational experience for all students to enjoy.
